What does mental wellness mean?

It means that your mind is in order and functioning in your best interest.

Creating a healthy mindset is an investment in your overall wellbeing.

There are some people out there however, who think that to have a good mental wellness state, then you need to always feel good and that if you don't, then something must be wrong or that your mindset is just not strong enough yet. But I'm here to tell you that is not true at all.

The goal of mental wellness isn't to always regularly feel good. It's to be able to manage our minds when we don't feel good as well as to appreciate the times when we do.

It's not the load that weighs you down, it's the way you carry it. - C.S. Lewis

If you choose to continue to stay positive in a negative situation, you've already won!

It all begins and ends with your mind. What you give power to ultimately then has power over you; if you allow it. Being positive in a negative situation is not being naïve.

It's leadership.

Mindset.

It's all about YOUR MINDSET.

From the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to bed - everything; your emotions, your thoughts, your perception, your reactions and every moment is all up to you.

You must train your mind to be stronger than all of that or else you'll lose yourself every time.

And don't think that because you failed yourself and reacted poorly to something, that your whole day is then completely ruined. That's so far from the truth. You can start over at anything. Your day is NOT ruined. Your world is NOT over. Take a deep breath and start over.

Remember, most of your stress comes from the way you either respond or react to a situation and not the way life is in itself. Adjust your attitude. Adjust your way of thinking. Change the way you see and view things. Look for the good in ALL situations. Take the lesson and find new opportunities to grow. Let al the extra stress, worrying and overthinking go. When you come across something that you find yourself having a reaction to; have this reminder in mind - "My PEACE is way more important that this thing that I'm about to stress myself over." If its not going to matter in 5 years, don't spend more than 5 minutes being upset about it.

Things to tell yourself:

  • I will stop worrying about everything

  • I will live a healthy lifestyle

  • I will stop thinking about past events

  • I will forgive myself and others

  • I am becoming more at-ease with myself

  • I will take things on with a gentle approach

  • I will stop feeling the need to control everything

  • I will let life play out on its own

  • I will be more honest with myself

  • I will do what I love

Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.

Lets try to always begin our day with an " I get to" mentality, instead of an " I have to" thought process.... "I get to go to work." or "I get to have a busy day." Whatever it may be. We often dress our opportunities as stress, but they are in fact blessings. What you are stressing over; whether its your job, family life, or school....there's always someone out there who is wishing they had what you had and would be beyond grateful to gain it in their own life.

And if you just may happen to be that person, remember this - rock bottom will always teach you lessons that mountain tops never will. Where you are right now; won't last forever.

Be happy with what you have while working for what you want. - Helen Keller

Don't fake it till you make it. Face it till you make it. Get up, Work hard. Fail. Stand back up. Face it again. Do a little better. Fail again. Get back up. Repeat.

Focus on the steps on front of you; not the whole staircase. Appreciate where you are in your journey, even if its not where you want to be just yet.

Every season serves a purpose.

The most courageous decision that you can make each day is to be in a good mood. - Voltaire

6 months from now, you can be in a completely different space; mentally, spiritually, physically, and financially. You will be surprised at who ends up being the ones watching your journey and being inspired by it. Keep on pressing forward and never give up!
